So the Halloween Jam was last week, and it was a ripping good time. Costumes were awesome, beer was flowing, and people were stoked. Yes, there were some scary moments... like when five cops rolled up on bikes, or when some dude thought it would be a good idea to try a front flip off of the office vert wall into the bowl on a dare and landed flat on his face. A conversation with one of the bike cops and they left for Dunkin Donuts, a visit from a fire engine & an ambulance, and the concussed flipper was whisked off and the party continued. Of course during all of this, McRad was SLAYING the joint. I saw their drummer get nailed in the side of the head by a flying board, and after a moment of shaking it off, they picked right back up again like nothing happened. Gnarly.
While McRad was playing, 2, 3, sometimes 4 dudes were dropping in at once and totally going for it. So many rad tricks going down simultaneously, and of course the occasional smash up, but the energy level was absolutely fierce. Can't beat those primal sessions.
Special thanks to Scott Kmiec, Chuck Treece & McRad, and of course Exit and Kinetic for support and help in making the jam possible. Thanks also to Chris Picco, Pauly, Suozzo, and everyone who pitched in to help set things up that day. Can't thank you all enough. ---Patrick
